Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Pocket Coach ("we", "us") collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Pocket Coach is the data controller for your personal data. Contact: armanbahali@gmail.com.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: username, email address, and password. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and are never stored by us in plain text.
- Profile information you choose to add: display name, bio, and profile photo.
- Fitness and health data you log: workouts, exercises and weights lifted, bodyweight and body measurements, nutrition and macros, sleep logs, readiness and check-in scores, cardio, injuries or rehab notes, goals, and progress photos.
- Activity data from a service you connect: if you connect an activity tracker in Settings → Activity Sync, we receive data such as steps and activity from that service. You can disconnect at any time.
- Community and coaching data: groups you join, posts and programs you share, leaderboard entries, friend and coach connections, users you block, and reports you submit about other users.
- Subscription information: your plan and subscription status. On iPhone and iPad, purchases are made through Apple's App Store: we receive the transaction details Apple provides (product, dates, and transaction ID), never your payment details. On the web and Android, card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and handled by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.
- App preferences: units, theme, training mode, and similar settings.
We don't use advertising trackers, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't sell your data.
2. How We Use It

3. AI Features
Pocket Coach's AI features (for example the AI coach, weekly briefs and reviews, program generation, macro and sleep insights, plateau checks, rehab plans, and coach message drafts) are powered by Anthropic's Claude API.
- What is sent: the data needed for the feature you use — such as your recent workouts, exercises and weights, bodyweight, nutrition, sleep and readiness scores, goals, and any message you type. We don't send your password or payment details.
- Consent first: the app asks your permission before sending any data to Anthropic. If you decline, AI features stay off and the rest of the app works normally. You can change this at any time in Settings → App → Privacy & Legal.
- How Anthropic handles it: Anthropic processes the data to generate a response on our behalf. Under its commercial terms it does not use API data to train its models and deletes it after a limited retention period (currently up to 30 days), unless it must keep it longer for safety or legal reasons.
4. Who We Share Data With
We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as needed to run the Service:

Other people see your data only when you choose to share it: your profile, posts, and leaderboard entries are visible to other users; programs you share go to the people you share them with; and a coach you connect with can see the data you share with them. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
5. International Transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the UK or EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK/EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
6. How Long We Keep It
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your data from our systems straight away, except billing records we must keep for tax and accounting law, and backups that expire on a rolling basis. Some data (such as preferences and draft logs) is also stored on your device and is removed when you log out or delete the app.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Export: download all your data at any time from Progress → Tools (CSV or full JSON backup).
- Delete: permanently delete your account and data from Settings → App → Danger Zone — no need to contact us. This also cancels a subscription bought on the web or Android; an App Store subscription must be cancelled with Apple.
- AI consent: turn AI data sharing on or off in Settings → App → Privacy & Legal.
- Your rights: depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or port your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time (this doesn't affect processing before you withdrew it). Email us to use these rights. You can also complain to a data protection authority. Ours is the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl); you can also contact the authority in the EU country where you live, or in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), stored with providers that encrypt data at rest, and access to it is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
9. Children
Pocket Coach is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. We will post changes here with a new date, and tell you in the app if a change is significant.
